A New Liberian Newsletter Hits Newsstand in MinnesotaLiberian Journal USA Staff Reporter ![]() A new Liberian community newsletter called “The Liberian People’s News” is expected to hit the newsstand soon, according to the Liberian Journal News Online, quoting Mr. Benoni Tarr Grimes, publisher of the People-to-People Media Network, plans for rolling out the maiden edition have been concluded with the Dwamina Group, a Liberian media and publishing firm based in Minnesota. Speaking recently in an interview with The Liberian Journal, Hon. Grimes, said: ”We believe now is the time to diversify our media tools by reinforcing our online messages with hard copies, so that our people in the state of Minnesota would get objective analyses and updates on events taking place both here and at home—The Diaspora and Liberia”. Hon. Grimes, who currently runs the Peopletopeople online magazine, revealed that 3000 copies of the first edition are scheduled to be released in Mid March 2009, adding “we have made the best of arrangements to ensure that our distributions are read in almost quarter of the Liberian community in Minnesota”. To save cost in this tough economic climate, he continued, “We intend to produce copies only in “black-and-white”. In a related development, Mr. Grimes has appointed Christopher Dweh Wisner as Editor-in-Chief. Mr. Wisner, a prolific writer with extensive training in news writing, reporting and editing, has accepted his preferment, promising to make certain that the first edition contains a provoking and interesting list of stories and analyses. Wisner:” People need to know the latest updates on TPS/DED, the failures of the Liberian community in Minnesota under Kerper Dwanyen, and the pros and cons of President Sirleaf’s leadership in Liberia”. Mr. Wisner said the newsletter will also showcase lively features, including entertainment, letters, obituary, and texts of church sermons.
