ULAA ACKNOWLEDGES NOBLE DEEDS

The Chairman of the National Board of Directors, James Nan Larsah, Jr., and the officers and members of the Board leadership express great relief and thanks to the ULAA Interim National Executive President, Dr. Mator M. F. Kpangbai, and members of the Interim National Administration for a job well done on the immigration front.

Special mention is made of ULAA Immigration Czar, Hon. Michael Wreh, of Rhode Island, who worked assiduously with the ULAA Interim Administration to organize and spearhead various Liberian delegations to the U.S. Capitol Building in pursuit of reprieve for thousands of fellow Liberians facing immigration uncertainty.

Upon receiving the information today, Chairman Larsah proceeded to call on a number of key Liberian immigration focus group leaders to congratulate them and appeal to them for their continuous involvement in the immigration struggle until there is a “permanent relief to thousands of our fellow country men and women”.

Among some with whom Chairman Larsah conferred, commended or mentioned for their dedication, hard work and sacrifice in the immigration battle include the following:

1. Dr. Mator M. F. Kpangbai, ULAA Interim National Executive President – for his leadership in delivering on the chief component of the Terms of Reference mandating the ULAA Interim Administration. A few highlights of Dr. Kpangbai’s Administration’s successes the immigration front include a national immigration proclamation issued to declare the month of February, 2009 as Immigration Advocacy Month; setting aside February 5th to launch the Liberian Immigration Campaign; mobilizing various ULAA member-Chapters comprising many travels to various states to canvass for support from various Congressional members; and that he led the single largest delegation to the U.S. Capital, that he instrumented the ever widest U.S. national media exposure brought to the Liberian immigration fight through a touching documentary screened by CNN.
