CATHEDRAL CLASS OF 84 ENDS 25TH CELEBRATION IN GRAND STYLE By
Joe Davies The Class of 84 of the Cathedral Catholic High School in Monrovia, Liberia observed
its 25th anniversary in Minnesota over the weekend. ![]() The three events got on the way with a welcome ceremony and party at the residence of alumnus Saybah Dennis in Rosemount MN. A record crowd including several members of the class and other guests attended the program. The
next day event commenced with the holding of the annual assembly and elections. Those elected were: Clifford Hooks, President;
Ometus Kolison, Vice President; Anthony Kenneth, Secretary; Omega Smith, Treasure; Regina Gardner, Financial Secretary and
Hannah Parssons, Chaplain.
Following the assembly the class resolved to assist with the growth and development of their beloved alma-mata by donating the amount of $750.00 for the strengthening of the SRA reading project at the school, donating $1,000.00 to the general board toward the school assistance program. The class also discussed strategies and ways of creating, strengthening and maintaining relationships between and amongst alumni and graduates of their school. The celebration banquet was held at the residence of alumnus Clifford Travis. It was festive and fantastic. It was all dancing, eating and drinking. An alumnus said this was the best celebration ever. Adding, I am glad I came. On Sunday, March 22, the class gathered at the Ebenezer Community Church in Brooklyn Park, MN for the thanksgiving and intercessory service. In his sermon the theme: “If I had known,” the newly elected President of the class, Rev. Clifford Hook called on all Christian to be their brothers’ keeper. He said know one knows the future; we can make the world a better place by lending a hand to our neighbor. Now is the time he emphasized, for tomorrow may be too late and there was be no time to say, “If I had known.” The class had its farewell lunch at the resident of alumnus Caroline Galimah in Ramsey MN. The organizing Committee,at the closing ceremonies, expressed thanks and appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the 25th Anniversary celebration. ______________________________________________________________________________ THE
