Skitta Cecelia Cassell passed away on February 20, 2009 at 1:24 A.M following complications due to Scleroderma at the emergency department of the Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

The journey of Skitta’s life started 1975 in Liberia. After growing up for a while in Liberia, she came along with her family to the United States as the result of the civil conflict in Liberia. She has been a person who sets goals for herself and strived to achieve them. Skita worked hard to accomplish her dream and goals. She was a courageous, determined and perseverant young lady.

In his homily, the Priest of the Wauwatosa Trinity Episcopal Church, Rev. Fr. Gary Manning described Skitta as a faithful servant of the Lord who was committed to His vineyard. He said Skita was strong and believes she was in consistent touch with her Lord. Fr. Manning said, during her battle, she administered to many people. Adding, she lived her life based on hope.

Rev. Manning praised the family for the care and love they showed her during her battle with Scleroderma. He said encouraged the family to rejoice in the life of Skita and God thanks to the Lord.
Skita celebrated Abayomi's 8th birthday on February 14, 2009, a goal she had wanted to meet. This many through of faith believe brought her great joy before her passing.

On Friday, February 20, 2009 Skita said her final “good bye” to the world and those she loved. She had fought a good fight; she had finished her course and was ready to receive her reward in heaven. It was time to go the land where our Lord Jesus Christ once said in John 14:2-3, “In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.”

She is survived by her son, Abayomi Situmah Cassell, her parents, John Cassell (Natalie), Marilyn Urey (Henrique), and Boimah Taylor (Pam). Skita leaves to mourn her loss her siblings, Angelique and Joshua Cassell, Grandparents - Emelda Dounoun Garwuo, Rebecca Luke, August Coleman Cassell, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Godchildren, many friends and a host of other relatives from all over the United States, Canada, Liberia, Ghana and Europe.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
