to be with the Lord on Saturday, April, 18, 2009 following funeral rites at
the River of Life Lutheran Church edifice on 2200 Fremont Avenue North, Minneapolis, Minnesota. On that bright and beautiful day, Charles Charby Newton concluded his journey in grand style. Several friends, relatives, sympathizers of the Newton, Ben and Ezike families gathered to pay their final respect and bit him farewell. It was this faithful morning of Wednesday, March 25, 2009, that the Newton, Ben and Ezike families announced with prayers and thanksgiving the home going of Mr. Charles C. Mr. Newton, in is 91st year, was a teacher for many years in Pleebo, Maryland County, Liberia, West Africa. He later became a member of Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church when he relocated to the US in the nineties.
The Journey of this great son of Liberia commenced when Koliju a fair skinned lady of Pomukeh, and Nyema of Daydiebo Tuflakeh, both of Maryland, Liberia announced the birth of a bouncing baby boy on April 15, 1917 in Maryland, Liberia. They named him Charles Charby Newton. At an early age, Charles embraced the Christian religion and became a member of the United Methodist Church.
Charles was always available to assist everyone came in contact with and there was never a time that anyone could not talk
to him or that he would not offer advice. He encouraged the family of Charles to take hope in the life their father and relative
live. Rev. Brewer said there is a time for everything under the sun.
