AAP SETS RECORDS STRIAGHT WITH THE OLM

AAP Rejoinder to OLM Press Release dated March 31, 2010.

The AAP would like to address itself to a press statement by a self-proclaimed management of the organization of Liberians in Minnesota in which OLM johntarley1.jpgaccused AAP of several wrong doings with reference to grants applied for with Foundations named in her baseless accusation. AAP would like to address itself to the allegations as followed:

1. $10,000 Check to Mr. Bartee

At no time AAP has ever issue a press release that it gave a check of $10,000 to Mr. Bartee as alleged by the OLM management. When the letter announcing the availability of funding to OLM form AAP was presented to John Bartee, Mr. Robert Morris, Managing Editor of Liberian Media Advertisement Agency and OLM Board member Kamaty Diahn were present. A copy of the letter was presented to Mr. Morris to inform AAP’s constituents. Since Mr. Morris left my offices, we have had no conversation concerning the matter.

2. Unprofessional Press release from AAP

I am afraid if the composer and editor of the OLM press release clearly understood what they wrote. It is AAP’s legal and moral obligation to inform it constituent about her partnerships and potential partnerships. We announced to our constituent that AAP has secure funding for possible collaboration with the OLM, why should this be administratively wrong on the part of AAP? When Kerper Dwanyen, your "coach" was announcing to the community about his achievements with respect to funding money or contract he had not received, it was not administratively wrong especially when Mr. Richard Parker was OLM Board Vice chair at the time. Before OLM was ever contracted by AAP, Mr. Dwanyen had already informed the community with the approval of the Arthur Zakama’s Board of which Mr. Richard Parker was vice Chair.

It will not be in the interest of the community I love so dearly, especially OLM for us to engage each other in the unprofessional manner of your chosen. As a funding organization to OLM, I have the right to inform my constituent about my potential partners, collaborators and cooperators.

The reason why the issuing of the $10,000 funding hurt you so much, is that it will be a plus on my part. You are troubled that if the community hears that, John Tarley, the very man who was betrayed by Yaski and his surrogate foot-soldiers have blessed the community with another funding, it will expose your weakness and inability to find funding for OLM. You are afraid of my positive and courageous move, so you are doing everything to destroy my excellent character. I am too professional and advanced to engage in any diatribe with people who have yet to embrace the essence of nonprofit agencies and to produce evidence of high achievement in the nonprofit world. I have such record over the years from Liberia and in the USA.

3. $8,000, $10,000 and Funding moneys for OLM

It is very hard for unprofessional individuals to lead a noble and wealthy organization like the OLM. If the community delays to take back the OLM, it will be destroyed by Hennessey champions, who have turned OLM office into a mini-bar for the purpose of micro-managing the management team.

There is one secret in nonprofit management and that is to obey and respect donor’s wishes and implementing the purpose for any funding received. This has been the back-bone for my success over the years. No other secret in nonprofit management and just learn this from me. I am not brave like your advisor who will receive money for one purpose and use it for another purpose. AAP makes report to its board, then to the Attorney General office, to the IRS and its funding agencies. If there were any corrupt practices, we would have been exposed by now especially for over 10-years of consummated operation.

For the benefit of the community, here is what happened: Under AAP’s Community Organizing Program, AAP submitted a $100,000 proposal to Blue Cross for a period of two years. In that proposal, OLM will receive $10,000 to implement contractual activities described in the proposal. In response to our request, Blue Cross only approved $40,000 for program activities for one year. The OLM $10,000 for $100,000 budget was reduced to $4,000 for $40,000 budget approved by Blue Cross. OLM and three other organizations benefited from this funding. In a memorandum of understanding signed by AAP and OLM, OLM will receive $4,000 to recruit individuals from its membership for the community gathering to be organized by the partnership. Mr. Dwanyen has received the money and is yet to organize the gathering. I have in my possession legal documents to that effect which will be used at the appropriate time when needed by the community. Is Mr. Dwanyan so that dumb not to understand that the budget has been reduced to $4,000 even though he signed a memorandum with $4,000?

The same thing with Jay & Rose foundation, but approved $35,000. In the Jay & Rose agreement, her money is to be used to hire a program manager for the program and not to be divided amongst partner organizations. I have in my possession letters from both organizations to that effect. For Center for Disease Control (CDC) proposal, OLM gave AAP a letter of support for our proposal. OLM was never a partner organization. I have OLM letter on file. In the CDC proposal, I put $75,0ban81.jpg00 aside to partner with OLM and other community churches as a surprise blessing for hard working churches in our community. OLM was never a partner organization.

I want to inform the community and my constituency that the OLM Press Release was prompted by AAP’s refusal to recognize Christian Harris as long he was introduced by Clarence Yaskey as Board chair. Owing to this fact, Harris was led to be part of a press release in which allegations were made that he unfortunately, cannot validate.

Until Richard Parker signs a letter as acting board chair, since the OLM board chair is on medical leave, AAP will not do business with the OLM. Furthermore, any allegation thereafter made against AAP, AAP will not go to press but will result to legal action, be advised and warned.
