Bensonville City Magistrate fired

Clarke, Jr. & Sorbor George President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has with immediate effect sacked Bensonville City Information Minister Cletus Sieh said Magistrate Gonzeh was sacked upon the recommendation of Chief Justice Johnnie Lewis for alleged corruption. Minister Sieh said the Magistrate allegedly sold materials entrusted to him which were later retrieved by the Liberia National Police. He said the materials were reportedly stolen from the Fendell Campus but subsequently retrieved by the police and placed in Magistrate Gonzanh’s care. Minister Sieh said Justice Lewis set up an investigative judicial committee that found the magistrate liable before he was recommended for dismissal. The Information Minister told Star Radio report the Justice Ministry is gathering further evidence to prosecute Magistrate Gonzeh in accordance with law. 'Magistrate Gonsahn challenges dismissal' Meanwhile, the dismissed Stipendiary Magistrate of Bensenville has challenged reasons given for his dismissal and has threatened a lawsuit against Information Minister, Cletus Sieh. According to Star Radio, Minister Sieh fed the public with wrong and uncalculated information about reasons for his dismissal. The dismissed Magistrate clarified at no time he misapplied stolen items entrusted to him or the court he runs. He described as a defamation of Character the explanation provided by Minister Sieh about his dismissal. According to the aggrieved former Magistrate, Minister Sieh must appear in court to show reason why he allegedly fabricated lies against him. The former magistrate explained he was dismissed based on a complaint filed by a party alleging he mishandled a case, something he described as farfetched. When contacted, Minister Sieh described the threat as a miss-direction of aggression. Minister Sieh said information provided on the dismissal of Mr. Gonsahn are alleged pending full-scale investigation.
