ULAA PROCLAIMS POWERFUL 50-MAN BODY TO OVERSEE 34TH ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY, SLATED FOR ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA FROM FRIDAY, SEMPTEMBER 24 TO SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2010

The National Executive President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas mariah.jpg(ULAA), Dr. Mariah Y. Seton, has effective immediately made the following appointments to the membership of the National Planning Committee for the 34th Annual General Assembly, scheduled to be held in the City of St. Paul, Minnesota, between Friday, September 24 & Sunday, September 26, 2010.

The ULAA Chief Executive made the decision following a meeting with members of her National Administration and interested others. During the meeting, which was chaired by the ULAA Boss, Dr. Mariah Y. Seton, a seed-money fund was generated in the amount of $1,300.00 for the purpose of financing the initial preparation work of hosting a successful Annual General Assembly.

Other critical issues deliberated at the well attended meeting included addressing concerns for the truly free, fair and transparent election, workable budget for hosting the General Assembly, a wholesome and encompassing involvement of Liberians in the General Assembly from all backgrounds and persuasions, the urgent and peaceful resolution of the long drawn-out divisive ULAA crisis, the challenges for democracy and successful national elections in Liberia, and the socio-economic wellbeing of Liberians everywhere.
