Keith Ellison obtained 55,431 or 82% while Tea Party Barb Davies White got 7,965 or 12% and Gregg Iverson 4,575 or 7% of the votes for the 5th District following 100% of count. Keith Ellison gives that what in boxing is called "technical knockout" or "TKO" defeating them by wide margin. Keith will

Most Liberians in Minnesota were taken aback when some greedy OLM leaders provided Tea Party Barb Davies White who was challenging Keith the platform as key note speaker at their country’s (Liberia’s) 163th Independence anniversary recently in the Twin cities.

Keith born August 4, 1963, is an American lawyer, politician, and a Democrat. He became the first Muslim to be elected to the United States Congress when he won the open seat for Minnesota's 5th congressional district, which centers on Minneapolis, in the House of Representatives in 2006. He is also the first African American elected to the House from Minnesota, currently serving in the 111th United States Congress. Ellison is also active on a national level in advocacy for Muslims in the United States

Barb Davis White is a Tea Party activist and former Republican turned Democrat candidate overnight for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. She prompted shocked gasps from the packed hearing room when she said, "Rosa Parks did not move to the front of the bus to support sodomy." Her testimony involved accusations that the movement for marriage equality is hijackinEmmerDayton.jpgg the civil rights movement. Most Liberians in Minnesota believe that Barb does not care about their immigration and other things that concern them.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher conceded the DFL primary for governor to Mark Dayton early Wednesday morning. Kelliher issued a statement saying, "I just spoke with Mark Dayton and congratulated him on winning the DFL primary. I offered him my full support. He will make an excellent governor."

In a close race Mark Dayton obtained 182,789 or 41%, to defeat Margaret Kelliher who got 175,905 or 40%. The other two candidates in the race Matt Entenza 80,539 or 18% and Peter Idusogie 3,122 or 1%. This means that Mark Dayton (DFL) will go against Tom Emmer (GOP) in November for governor.

In another Liberian related polling, Wynfred Russell came fourth in a five man race for a seat on the Brooklyn Park City Council. The result of the Central District reads: Rich Gates 518 (29 percent of the votes); Boyd Morson 474 (26.54 percent of the votes); Greg Jasicki 328 (18.37 WYNFREDRUSSELL.jpgpercent of the votes); Wynfred Russell 255 (14.28 percent of the votes); and Billy Bishop 211 (11.81 percent of the votes). The two candidates with the most votes—Rich Gates and Boyd Morson—will lock horns in the November elections.

Keith Ellison have been an advocate of efforts to extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Liberian refugees as well as their immigration struggle in the United States since he came to office.

In 2007, Keith Ellison worked with Representative Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island to successfully petition the Bush Administration to grant Liberian Americans TPS. When the TPS for Liberian Americans was set to expire on March 31, 2009, Congressman Kennedy and Keith again worked together to request that President Obama defer enforcement of the deportation order for Liberian refugees. Congressman Ellison, also when the Liberian DED was about to expire on March 31, 2010, took the lead in advocating and campaigning for its extension for  eithteen month by President Obama. Liberians feel they owe it to him to support him. Barb on the other hand is known for her anti-immigration campaign.
