Hon. Smallwood congratulations Pres. Sirleaf, other Nobel Laureates

The President of the Liberian Community of North Jersey, Inc, Hon. Robert E. Smallwood, Jr., has extended congratulatory message to Her pres.jpgExcellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia and Ms. Leymah Gbowee, Liberian Peace Activist on their historic winning of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize.

In a release sent to the People's News, Mr. Smallwood said, It is his fervent hope that Liberians everywhere will view this historic and remarkable recognition as a rallying cry for peace, reconciliation, and as a moment to strengthen our national identity with a focus on our common destiny.

He concluded, "Congratulations to our Nobel Laureates, H. E. Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia and Ms. Leymah Gbowee, Liberian Peace Activist."

Mrs. Sirleaf recently attended the ceremony in Oslo where she accepted the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize award which she shares with Ms. Leymah Gbowee,39, a social worker and a peace activist and Tawakkol Karman, a Yemeni journalist and a political activist who, at 32, is the youngest Peace Prize laureate and the first Arab woman to receive the award.
