ULAA writes President Ellen Sirleaf, denies Gaye Sleh's claim to ULAA President

The Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) has written the President of Liberia, Dr. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to apprise her attention Pres_Sirleaf_Seton.jpgto a fake representation of the organization, by Mr. Gaye Sleh as president. The Letter says in parts that, ", we have received unquestionably reliable communication that an official invitation to your inauguration has been delivered in the name of the Union of Liberian Association in the Americas (ULAA) to one Mr. Anthony Kesselly and his group of cronies, a man who has devoted the past nearly four (4) years to implant the seeds of discord, strive, division and endless litigation among various Liberians and Liberian community organizations."

Below is the Letter in detail:

December 30, 2011

Dr. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf
President of the Republic of Liberia
Executive Mansion
Monrovia, Liberia

President Sirleaf:

We bring you warmest greetings and sentiment of best wishes on behalf of the officers and members of the ULAA Peace Negotiation Committee of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) and bring you hearted congratulations on the occasion of your inauguration as President of the Republic of Liberia.

Your Excellency, Madam President, we write to apprise your office, as the duly constituted body established to engage the leaders and members of contending party to the ongoing ULAA crisis, that has spanned since about four (4) years now, that we remindful of the Message of Peace and Reconciliation dispatched and received from the Office of the President of the Republic of Liberia on September 25, 2010. Please be assured that your message of peace did truly resonate with the overwhelming majority of conflict-wearied Diaspora Liberians, and we have since remained committed to every genuine effort to bring good-faith and genuine peace to the ULAA family.

However, Madam President, we have received unquestionably reliable communication that an official invitation to your inauguration has been delivered in the name of the Union of Liberian Association in the Americas (ULAA) to one Mr. Anthony Kesselly and his group of cronies, a man who has devoted the past nearly four (4) years to implant the seeds of discord, strive, division and endless litigation among various Liberians and Liberian community organizations.

Your Excellency Madam President, let it be made emphatically clear here that neither Mr. Anthony V. Kesselly is a leader of ULAA but merely a self-gratifying impersonator, nor is there any legitimate leadership of the Union other than that run under the ULAA Board leadership oversight of constitutionally elected Chairman James Nan Larsah, Jr. In addition and on the contrary, the duly inaugurated National Executive President of the Union is Dr. Mariah Y. Seton.

Therefore, it is unimaginable to conceive that your office would extend invitation to Mr. Kesselly or any of his cronies in the fraudulently self-proclaimed capacity as leader of ULAA as they have widely claimed on the World Wide Web and various other settings.

In view of the supra, the ULAA Peace Negotiation Committee, acting on the authority and behalf of the National Board of Directors and the National Administration of ULAA, hereby requests from your office clarification in this matter in the shortest possible time, so as to enable the Union proceed further on the matter with proper guidance.

Thanks.

Highest esteemed,

Nellie Francis Sirleaf-Savice
