The Rev. Canon Burgess Carr is dead
The death is announced of the Rev. Canon Burgess Carr, a veteran Liberian priest and therologian who
for seven years headed the All Africa Council of Churches, Partnership Officer for Africa in the World Mission Unit of
the Episcopal Church Center and an advocate of freedom and liberty in Africa. According to an
announcement from St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Snellville, Georgia and news report from the Episcopal News Service
the Rev. Canon Carr died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 in his sleep in Snellville,

Charles Taylors fate hangs in the balance, how will he be sentenced?
On April 26, 2012 the former Liberian Leader and warlord, Charles Taylor was found guilty by the panel of International judges
at the trial in The Hague of aiding and abetting crimes against humanity and war crimes during the Sierra Leone civil war.
The next important step in the trial is the sentencing. The Presiding Judge Lussick, in announcing the verdict, made it clear
that the prosecution had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Taylor was part of a joint criminal enterprise, the

Special Independent Commission of Inquiry Submits Report Calls for Dismissal of Inspector General of Police of Liberia

Former Caldwell Commissioner Concerned About Bridge
A former Commissioner of the Township of Caldwell, Benoni Tarr
Grimes says the Caldwell Bridge is a time bomb and if nothing is urgently done by the Government of Liberia to have the bridge
reconstructed in the shortest possible time, it may collapse. Mr. Grimes expressed fear that the bridge is a major bridge
that is leading and connecting to other parts of the city and if that bridge collapses, it will create serious problem as
the township of Caldwell and other cities beyond Caldwell would be disconnected from Monrovia and its environs. Full Story
