LCM PRESIDENT SPEAKS ON LIBERIAN TPS ISSUE
The Acting President of the Liberian Community of Minnesota-St Paul (LCM), Hon. Edward William Carter, Jr.  has assured the leadership of ULAA of 940-liberia042507.standalone.prod_affiliate.2.JPGhis Organization’s preparedness to partner with  the Union and other Diaspora Liberian Community-based Organizations to promote the ongoing TPS efforts.
Speaking during a telephone conversation recently with ULAA’s Chief Executive officer, Hon. Emmanuel Wettee, Hon. Carter expressed deep concern over the poor turnout at the recent TPS rally held in Minnesota under the auspices of OLM. He attributed the situation partly to the failure of OLM officials to include other Liberians-based Organizations and other stakeholders in the planning and implementation process.
Mr. Carter noted that the success of the TPS struggle is contingent upon the collective efforts and shared interest  of all Liberians and frowned on the attitude of certain individuals, who he said want to politicize and trivialize the process for selfish political ends. He said that the recent statement of OLM President, Hon Dwanyen, “we will rest and when you’re ready, please call us.” Is tantamount to argumentum ad metum (using scare tactics to garner support for his immigration policy), something which shows that he is insensitive to the plight of those disaffected Liberians.
For his part, Hon Wettee, congratulated Hon Carter for his preferment, and assured him that the Union was willing to work with all Liberians and Liberian-based community organizations to ensure that the TPS struggle was a resounding success.
