Message from the Chairman

Welcome to the Mount Airy Social Club website, the guide to our wonderful organization and what we are all about.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish you and your family prosperous future and best of health in years to come.

Our Mission is to strengthen and promote relationships between and amongst our members while enhancing the unique quality of life in our community. Mount Airy was founded on the principle of bringing together Liberians and other residents of Minnesota for the purpose of improving socioeconomic growth and development as well as to socially stimulate and promote unity and understanding amongst ourselves. Today, we have extended our boundaries beyond the limits of Minnesota. We have members in other parts of the United States as well as Liberia. We want to cater to people everywhere and any where, making life better for all.

We are committed to this principle and will do everything possible to ensure that we all are successful; and that we are our brother's and sister’s keepers. We must reach out to all our neighbors and friends in meaniful ways. More than that, we need to begin to engage our state and community leaders to explore means of taking Mt. Airy to the next level. The question to all our members is what one thing can you recommend to ensure that we are taking Mount Airy places.

We are all  proud that the Mount Airy Social Club continues to grow and is recognized as one of the community’s pillars of hope. At the end of the year, we are empowered to reach out to our relatives and friends back home. Mount Airy also continues to enjoy the confidence and the support of the community and this is something to be proud of. Since Mount Airy was founded, there have been absolutely no complaints from anyone regarding being treated unfairly in any way or of any problems of accountability. We need to build on that reputation.

I want to personally thank Mrs. Cecilia Hodge-Harmon, our very efficient Financial Secretary, for the great job she has been doing to ensure that our financial records are in order. I have unquestionable confidence in her ability and she has demonstrated great integrity. She has my vote as long as she wants to be our Business Manager (Financial Secretary). I must also say thanks to all of you who have helped in one way or the other to make Mount Airy second to none.

It is my hope and prayers that this coming year will be a great one.
