Mount Airy Elects New Officers

The Mount Airy Social Club has elected  a new code of officers.

The elections of officers for the 2010/2011 fiscal year were held over the weekend during the regular bi-weekly meeting. The elections were held in accordance with the MSC Constitution which states that election of administrative officers shall be held after every two year at the last meeting of the year.

The election was conducted by an ad hoc elections commission appointed by the President, Mr. Abel Zarzar. Members of the commission were Roland Harmon the Chairman with Helena Horace, and Patrick Morris as members. The original Chairman of the commission, Mr. Leonard Hena, could not be at the meeting due to ill health.

Those elected are Abel Zarzar, President; Momo Helb, Vice President; Caroline Galimah, Secretary; Roseline Peters, Treasurer, Cecilia Harmon, Financial; and Boakai Dorley Chaplain.

Meanwhile the installation of officers for the next fiscal years is expected to be held during the year end program of the club on Saturday, December 12, 2009. They will begin official functions in their respective positions as of the first meeting of the organization for 2010. That meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the club’s held quarters on 128 Mt. Airy Street in Saint Paul.
