Baby Malaika Morris Turns One
The Morris threw a big celebration over the weekend to mark the first birthday anniversary of their baby daughter,
Ms. Malaika Morris who was born a year ago. Several children of neighbors and friends of the Morris
gathered at their resident in Cottage Grove, Minnesota for what is described as a great festival. It was dancing, games, playing
and fun all day long. Many of the children won various prizes and had very big smiles on their faces. full story and pictures
Mount Airy to Visit Evelyn Seton
Officers and Members of the Mount Airy Social Club have reached a decision to pay a get-well visit with Member Evelyn Seton
Kennedy who has been ill and hospitalized recently. The decision was made during a regular meeting held
at the residence of Member Theresa Doe in Oakdale, Minnesota. It was agreed that although individual members have visited
and or called Ms. Seton, the organization has not made a substantial presence and that it was time to do so. full story

Mt Airy Member, Austin Fallah, receives another Master Degree
Our brother and member, Mr. Austin S. Fallah will be graduating from the prestigious Saint Thomas Catholic University with
a Master’s degree in Software System. The Commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May
21, 2011 at ten o’clock at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex on the campus of Saint Thomas University in
Saint. Paul, Minnesota and an invitation has been extended the Mount Airy Social Club to attend and share and celebrate his

Mount Airy has a New Board Member
Ms. Comfort Armah has been elected member of the Board of Director of the Mount Airy Social Club.
At a regular meeting of the club, the members unanimously elected Ms. Armah to replace Mrs. Helena Horace who recently
relocated from Minnesota to Virginia where she currently resides. full story
MT. AIRY BIDS MR. LEONARD HENA FAREWELL
At the Sunday, April 17, meeting members and friends of the Mount Airy Social Club took off time to
bid Mr. Leonard Hena farewell. Mr. Hena is expected to travel to Liberia. It is not clear when he will be leaving, but close
friends say he will be leaving soon. Mr. was praised by several members for been helpful, a father and friend in deed to them.

Evelyn Seton's surgery went well
Evelyn Seton's opened heart surgery went very well the Mount Airy News has learned. A telephone call from the sister of Evenlyn's
sister Ms. Forence Seton informed us that the surgery was conducted yesterday, August 23, 2011. It seeked to be long, but
was successful. The Surgery was held at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Martha Jah lost her mother
We regret to inform you of the sad news of the death of the mother of Marth Jah. Ma Sarah Stevens passed
away yesterday, August 11, 2011 in Monrovia, Liberia following a brief illness. She was 67. She leaves
to morn her lost her many children including Martha and a host of several relatives and friends of Liberia and the United

Evelyn Seton to undergo major Heart Surgery
Evelyn Seton is recuperating and responding to treatment, but she is still very seriously ill and is scheduled to do a major
open heart surgery and needs our prayers. Over the weekend, the General Secretary of Mount Airy, Caroline and Chairman of
the Board, Hon. Benoni Grimes forming another Mount Airy delegation and paid a visit to Evelyn at the home of her sister
Miss Florence Seton where she is temporarily residing while undergoing medical treatment. full story

Liberian Community in Minnesota (LCM) in Saint Paul, Minnesota distributed toys to several children for the day. The toys,
which worth over $2,500.00, was distributed at the monthly African and tradition food distribution at the Gethsemane Lutheran

A set of proposed amendments to the Mount Airy Social Club's Constitution has been introduced to the general body for its
action. The proposed amendment was submitted to the organization by the president Mr. Abel Zarzar and

Mount Airy 2011 Budget Approved
The Mount Airy Social Club Board of Directors has acted to approve the Budget for the organization's
2011 fiscal. Announcing the action of the Board during a special meeting with the Administration, the Chairman of the Board
Hon. Benoni Tarr Grimes informed the body that their action was carried in order to enable the administration function smoothly.
He expressed thanks and appreciation to the President and officers of the organization for cooperating with the Board to make

Mount Airy to Celebrate 10th Anniversary
The Mount Airy Social Club which turns ten years old has unvailed plans to hold a giant celebration later this year.
The Chairman of the Social Committee, Mr. Roland Harmon who is also chairing
the 10 Anniversary celebration said he is excited to be a part of this club and the planning of its first decade of existance.
He said he considers it as a honor and privilege and will do whatever it takes to make the occasion second to none. full story

Another Grimes heads to College

Cecilia Harmon is Back
Mount Airy's Financial Secretary, Mrs. Cecilia Harmon is back in the Twin Cities. Mrs. Harmon
left the United States at the close of the fiscal year for her annual vacation in Monrovia, Liberia. While in Liberia, she
took off time to visit with relatives and friends in and around the country. Upon arrival she describes her visit to Liberia
as fruitful and rewarding. full story

as she observes another birthday. It was on Wednesday, February 3, 2011 that several relatives and friends

Spend wisely, Fallah urges Members of Mount Airy Social Club
Over the weekend the Mount Airy Social Club celebrated its 9 Year-end in St. Paul, MN. The program was scheduled to have been
held on Saturday, December 11, 2010, but has to be cancelled due to bad weather condition in Minnesota. The
program was however, rescheduled and held on Sunday, December 12 at the Head Quarters of the organization on 128 Mount Airy
St in St. Paul. Several members and well wishers turned out for this all important occasion. Mr.

The Draft History of Mount Airy Social Club
It was in 2001 when the idea was born by Chris Wisner which he shared with Ms. Cecilia Harmon. The idea was transformed
into a community organization that will be of help to friends and neighbors, especially at the time most Liberians had
to send money back home during the Christmas season. It would be a reservoir to save money for rainy days and a pool where
friend contributed into to help friends. In 2008, Mount Airy was registered with the state of Minnesota
as a non-for-profit organization. full story
