Mr. Charles Gittens

An active member of the Mount Airy Social Club in Saint Paul, MN, Mr. Charles Gittens celebrates his 60th birthday in grand style, the Mount Airy News have learnt.

The special program and reception marking this auspicious occasion was held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 at the Moundsview Community Center on 5394 Edgewood Dr. in the city of Moundsview, MN.

Speaking during the occasion, Mr. Gittens gave thanks to the Almighty God for protecting, leading and providing for him over these years. He thanked his wife, Maria, his children and members of his family for the love and support they showered upon him. He expressed appreciation to his wife and all who put this elegant occasion together.

The guests were served to some of the most delicious, scrumptious and luscious meal and international cuisine and drinks of all kinds. This was followed by the Liberian style Grand Match which was led by Mr. Wesseh Geegbae. The rest of the evening was time to boogie down to some of latest African, American and European mellow music of all times. It was a ball to remember! It was big!

The occasion brought together his children, several relatives and friends as well as other dignitaries from around the twins cities and across the United States. Among the children of the honoree present at the event were Charlesetta, Sharon, Charles, Jr. , Anita, Pinkie, Christlo and Jealen.

The Mount Airy Social Club was represented by its Board Chairman, Hon. Benoni Tarr Grimes; the General Secretary, Mrs. Caroline Galimah Grimes; the Financial Secretary, Cecilia Harmon, Ms. Massa Nyaford, Ms. Felicia Dunbar, and others.

Mr. Gittens was born on August 22, 1951 in Monrovia, Liberia. He relocated to the United States in search of greener pasture. Charles is a successful businessman and a software technician and consultant with one of the leading computer companies in the Twin cities.

Charles and his wife, Marie joined Mount Airy Social Club at the beginning of 2011 and they have been regular and active. Charles is described by many of the members as friendly, reliable, easy-to-get along with, family man, and a man who gives light to his surroundings. The entire membership of Mount Airy appreciates their association.
