Funeral Arrangement for Edward B. Grimes

The Funeral Service for the father of Mount Airy Social Club's Board Chairman, Hon. Benoni Tarr Grimes is scheduled for Saturday, October 8, edwardGrimes.jpg2011 at 10 am at the Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in Caldwell, Liberia.

Edward ‘Bonwinkor’ Grimes, father of Benoni Tarr Grimes, publisher of the powerful People-to-People News Network, passed away Sunday Sept. 18 at around 5:00 a.m., at his Caldwell residence, in Liberia.

He was 80 (June 23, 1931--Sept.18, 2011).

Described in various affectionate terms—"Buster", "J-Bus", "Boy Buster"—the late Grimes died following a brief illness, leaving to mourn his wife, Mary Toomey Grimes, two sisters (Nancy Gbalafolo and Amah Grimes), and his children (Benoni Tarr Grimes, Edward Bonwinkor, Jr., Julia Grimes Tarnue, Janjay Grimes, Patricia Grimes, and Florence Jackson).

An employee of the Liberian ministry of public works for several years and an alumnus of Booker Washington Institute, also called BWI, where he played for the school’s soccer team and rhymed hymns with the choir, the deceased is also survived by a long list of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and other relatives and friends across four continents (Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America).

Hon. Grimes is expected to leave the US on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 to attend the funeral ceremony.
